Product - Biochemical products

Laboratory- and pilot plant-scale production of cyclodextrin-assisted, water-soluble fatty acids, cholesterol, steroidal drug actives, terpenoids and retinoids for cell-, tissue- and organ- culture media.

Most of these water-soluble lipophiles are effective substitutes of serum albumin in delivering fatty acids or cholesterol to the cells. The cyclodextrin-activated fatty acids are effectively utilized by different microorganisms even by Mycobacteria. (The very first in vitro cultivation of Mycobacterium leprae was reported by using CycloLab’s water-soluble palmitic acid complex.)

The line of cyclodextrin-assisted water-soluble lipids can be considered as non-animal origin culture media additives, of highly constant composition and batch-to-batch uniformity. These products are also available as cell culture tested compositions. The methylated- and (2-hydroxy)propylated-β-cyclodextrins employed for manufacturing water-soluble lipid complexes are also the products of CycloLab, thus a fare traceability of all such culture media additive product is provided.

CycloLab also provides its customers with detailed information on the composition, stability, dilution properties of the complexes, and technical assistance on how to use and treat these water-soluble complexes in different culture media.
